Blogging is no easy task if you’re trying to earn a living. The time needed to build an audience is a task in itself let alone earn money from whatever methods you’ve chosen. The bad news is, this probably isn’t going to change anytime soon, the good news is, if you commit to your goals and take action along with pairing that with a generous amount of patience, your blogging pains will pass.

Your Blogging Pains

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that although Batches Of Beauty is a new blog, I’m not new to the idea of blogging and have owned 3 other blogs in the past. I’m well aware of how painful blogging can be in the beginning and if you’re a new blogger, I hear you.

You probably check your stats daily in hopes that your newest post has gone viral and you check your social media followers just as much to see if you have any new fans. It’s discouraging to think you don’t exist to the world when you’ve put your heart and soul into designing, creating content, menus and finding that perfect widget to add to your sidebar.

If you’re unemployed, the pressure gets turned up even higher. While earning a living from a blog is possible, you know it won’t happen overnight.

Take A Deep Breath

Maybe you’re currently working in the outside world or maybe you’re freelancing to make ends meet. Either way, take comfort in knowing that your non-existence in the blogosphere is only temporary, if you put your working pants on and take action.

While you’re getting your hustle on with that freelance gig, or as you deal with annoying customers by smiling despite the fact that they’re yelling at you because you forgot to put mustard on their Big Mac, take calm in the fact that you’re building something that will allow you to live the life you want. Take comfort in knowing that one day, that very customer that’s yelling at you today could be asking for your advice about how to work from home someday.

Just Keep Swimming!

Dory of Finding Nemo said it best. When life gets you down, just keep swimming. I don’t expect you to take your laptop scuba diving, but I, along with your readers, expect you to keep going. No readers yet? Pretend you already have a ton of readers that are depending on you for new content. Publish for them! Just don’t pretend you’re someone you’re not for the sake of selling something. It’s not gonna work that way.

It’s going to be a long road, but if you really want to make your blogging dreams a reality, you’ll find a way to make it a reality.

Make a plan and write it down like I did in my post, BatchesOfBeauty Goals For 2017. Sometimes it really does make things more real if you can see them somewhere (like a computer screen) instead of depending solely on your imagination.

Great tips. I this fast pace world people do forget to appreciate and say thank you. I sometimes get so caught in work that I forget to appreciate my husband. Thank you for the tips.

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed reading this post.

I hear ya, I often find myself fighting between working and spending time with my loved ones.

It’s a constant battle for writers I suppose!

For me, being new to blogging, it’s challenging with the wealth of information that there is out there – which is also a fantastic thing at the same time. It’s just challenging to decide who to use as a host and what the best ways to grow your traffic are – without trying to annoy anyone – I want real followers and I guess I’d like my blog to grow faster than it is at the moment…

You’re absolutely right! I felt the same way. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to just take one step at a time so we don’t get overwhelmed
